PREFACE

The journal Asklepion – Informação em Saúde began publication in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of facilitating communication between producers and users of information in health-related science, technology, and innovation. Four years after its launch, and with society now in a new historical moment, the journal is focused on ensuring its continuity and sustainability.

The journal continues to be edited by one of its original co-editors: researcher Clóvis Ricardo Montenegro de Lima, from IBICT. Jorge Calmon Biolchini, also a researcher at IBICT, and Maria Cristiane Barbosa Galvão, professor at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (USP), have stepped away from the editorial board.

Since its inception, Asklepion has focused on studies and theories of information in the health field; knowledge organization and health information management; information and communication technologies in health; telemedicine; information in healthcare organizations; automation of clinical processes and procedures; health information and innovation; artificial intelligence; mobile health applications; information, health, and society; and health information policies.

The journal follows a continuous publication model, with submissions open year-round. Once an article is peer-reviewed and accepted, it undergoes editing and is then published. The journal continues to rely on its dedicated Editorial Team, whose efforts over recent years have made its existence and consolidation possible.

Asklepion is currently indexed in BRAPCI, Diadorim, DOAJ, Google Scholar, Latindex, and Migulim. The quality of submitted and published manuscripts is a key factor in the journal’s ongoing improvement, innovation, and impact.

We invite researchers, professors, students, and professionals to submit their work and to follow the journal’s continuous publication. Readers will find not only original contributions, but also thought-provoking works that foster critical thinking by addressing key scenarios, concepts, and practices essential to the advancement of research and services in Health Information.
