Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the usability of an application for the Systematization of Nursing Care in patients with sepsis in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Methods: This is a methodological study with a quantitative approach, involving two processes: the development of an application and the evaluation of its usability. The study sample was a convenience sample composed of nurses from adult ICUs in a university hospital complex. The instrument used for usability evaluation was the System Usability Scale (SUS), adapted to a Likert scale, which primarily seeks to evaluate learning, efficiency, and satisfaction, with a good score being >68. Results: The results demonstrated that the professionals considered the tool acceptable, with a good score on the qualification instrument. After using and evaluating the application through the SUS Likert scale, a classification score of 83.18 was obtained. Conclusion: This confirms the usability and usefulness of the application, indicating its feasibility for integration into electronic medical record systems in hospital units. This advancement is crucial for research in Communication and Information Technologies in Nursing, opening new possibilities in entrepreneurship to enhance care and health management for patients, teams, and institutions.
